JPE has steadily developed its business of supplying aggregates, groundworks and site clearance over a period of more than 20 years. In doing so it has expanded to encompass four sites. Their head office is based in Essington, near Wolverhampton along with three quarries in Shire Oak, Walsall Wood; Seisdon and Ironbridge, Telford.
IT infrastructure that once served a single site had now being outgrown. The growth of the business and the requirement for a system to manage quarry production had led to major upgrades to their IT infrastructure. The business was becoming more reliant on centralised data with HQ based infrastructure and Microsoft Office 365.
The IT systems had a profound effect on the way the business operated day-to-day. However, JPE recognised that there were risks, treats and statutory obligations that also needed to be tackled.
JPE Aggregates chose to work with West Midlands based Backup Heroes.
JPE Aggregates Financial Director, Steven Birch, explains:
“We chose Backup Heroes because they specialise in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. They own the who process and knew exactly what we were looking for in terms of protecting our business from a system outage.
Backup Heroes carried out a Business Impact Assessment and then presented us with a business continuity plan. They helped us execute the plan and now frequently test the infrastructure and processes to ensure our organisation, our critical systems and our data are protected and that we are well placed should an outage occur.
It is enormously valuable to me and JPE aggregates to know that this potential headache is being taken care of by professionals that we trust.
